The Barca family heritage of wine making can be traced for over 2,000 years in Italy and Europe, since the days of the Roman empire (before Christ). The Barca name and history is one of the oldest, if not the oldest, in the history of civilization; the great Roman warrior, Hannibal Barca, rode his elephants over the Alps into Italy in 250 B.C., in pursuit of conquering the Roman Empire. The Barca name has never been altered in lettering since these early times of Roman civilization.

Our Barca Family Select Premium wines were made in Europe for the past several centuries and were brought to America and California in 1910 by my father, the late Joseph Barca, an Italian immigrant who was a skillful wine maker and grape grower. he brought with him a great knowledge of family grape growing and wine making.

For the past several years and decades since that time, the Barca family has sold its premium grapes to the major premium wineries throughout California. All Barca quality and premium wines are bottled under the Barca labels, and are aged to perfection and carefully blended under our Master procedures. The past centuries and generations of the Barca family of skilled wine making and experience are now developed and made, produced and bottled by George Gino Barca to expand his great family premium wines all over the world. Our selected premium grapes and wines are made and produced from our best chosen California vineyards and regions throughout the great wine country areas of the great state of California and are available on a limited basis only to retailers and customers.

Barca Wine Cellars of California produces the bottles under the Old Family Premium Labels of Gino Barca Gold Mountain, a great quality premium price wine produced in 3 and 4 liter bottles. Gino Barca Gold bottles, Barca North Coast and Napa Valley Mountain Vintage & Estate premium wines are produced in the 7.50 liter bottles. Our Barca premium vintage and estate wines are 100% selected variety grapes from each vintage year and crush.

We are proud of our present and past wine making heritage and history. During the proibition we shipped over 400 Railroad box cars of wine grapes. Roseville was bigger than Napa Valley at that time. We shipped to all points in the United States during the probition when consumers got federal permits to make 200 gallons of wine for themselves and their family, although they could not sell it.
