GEORGE GINO BARCA'S STORY OF HIS FAMILY HISTORY
My great forefathers started with a great general named Carthage Barca, the father of my fathers with the name of Hannibal Barca, who tried to conquer the Roman Empire in 250 B.C. Carthage Barca, Hannibal Barca and the rest of his brothers started the great Carthage nation in their era. They attacked the Roman Empire with his small Subera Army through the well-known “Punic Wars.” These wars became famous as documented in books, historical events, movies, and autobiographies. They have also been featured in today’s history channels and throughout internet world wide.
Hannibal Barca was a great world leader, and also a great wine producer, selling wines and inventing several wine and blend of wines. He went through Spain and Italy growing vineyards, and selling grapes and wines to Greece, Spain, the Roman Empire, to his closest neighbors and Malta, a smaller island between his nation Carthage which was on the northern tip of Africa and right next to Malta and Sicily.
Hannibal Barca loved elephants and raised and trained them and to be in the army by riding on them over the Alps to conquer the Roman Empire. He was a great leader, who had four Punic wars against the Romans.
As he got older in life, he lived near Palermo in Sicily where he died when the Romans finally came after him. He had a poisoned ring on his finger which he carried with him all the time. It was this poison that he drank when the Romans came after him. He left a legacy of world history as a great general and warrior as well as being a leader for governmental affairs.
Hannibal Barca’s war tactics and strategies were learned by several new nations. He believed in one God Almighty, not like the Roman Empire which believed in several gods. At that time, several gods were common for certain different leaders; however Hannibal Barca only believed in one God Almighty, just like the Jewish religious faith.
After Hannibal Barca died as he had chosen to do, the Roman Empire, under Julius Caesar, crushed the Carthage nation and depleted the cities and populations of 500,000 people. His great writings and libraries in Carthage and in Barcelona, Spain were named after him. In several other cities, several books and motion pictures were made about this great man.
The Barca family name has existed over 2400 years, following the Hannibal Barca name of the past history to the present time. The Barca name means ‘boat’ in English and was used to mean “boat” in Italian, Spanish, and other languages of other European nations.
I, George Gino Barca am very proud of this name. After researching the name of Hannibal Barca, it brings to me a feeling of greatness of which makes me very proud of my name. Barca means all the things my forefathers knew about and proudly worked and defended. This man became so great back in the days when very few people knew about this great brave person who was ahead of his time. Our America today uses skills of fighting wars, and government positions and procedures that were born out of my forefathers.

It is in the world historical books and writings in your public libraries all over the free world. It is the bloodline of children and heirs thereafter 247 B.C. before Jesus Christ and the Holy Family of all saints and angels and the great after life of the beautiful Land of Heaven created by God Almighty.
Many books and movies have been produced and written about this great warrior. This man was also a writer, inventor and politician and who helped build his city estimated at 500,000 people. He created several military tactics of which no leader or people in history could compare in terms of his war strategy. The most famous of which was using his favorite animal – elephants. These animals helped him and his troops by giving them rides through Spain and over the Alps’ Mountains, and then going down into Italy where they defeated the Romans three out of four times in war tactics nobody even dreamed about in those days.
The large Roman Army which had 75% more soldiers at this time finally overtook Hannibal as they fought him in his village of Sicily, Italy. But it was too late, because Hannibal had a lifetime gold ring made with solid gold. The ring had large hole filled with poison. True to his promise to the Cartage people and army troops, Hannibal took the ring and cap off which was on his middle finger and drank all the poison that he had not letting the Roman soldiers take him alive; and died in Sicily suddenly.
Hannibal Barca who grew up along his father, brothers and one sister. He was very popular among his father’s friends. He was of a cosmopolitan nature of all people: Orientals, Greeks, Jews, Egyptians, Carthaginians, Syrians, Romans, and many nationalities. When Hannibal died, he left his family, friends and many people of all kinds who lived in a mall village which was named by his father Hamilcar Barca, and called Piana Dei Greco (city of Greece) due to his learning and education in Athens and of the many Greek settlements in Southern Italy and Sicily.
The Carthaginian army was superior to the Roman army. Hamilcar Barca was undefeated in combat on land. The Romans forced him to sign an agreement that ceded the Carthaginian colonies in Sicily to Rome because he was unable to obtain sufficient supplies by sea from Carthage to continue fighting. Rome’s superiors nearly controlled the seas and its stronger navy prevented supplies from being sent across the water. Rome’s navy, not the Roman army was a decisive factor in that war. Hamilcar had three sons of which Hannibal was the oldest. Hasdrubal was son number two, and Mago was the youngest, who was Hamilcar Barca’s brilliant general. He carefully trained his three sons for war and hatred of the Romans and taught and trained them that the Romans would be the most important enemy of Carthage, and that Rome’s insatiable appetite for expansion would eventually reach the rich the territory of Spain.
Hamilcar Barca, a visionary, instilled in his three sons the conviction that this eventual conflict was in the national interest of Carthage. Unfortunately, Hamilcar Barca, in the battle at young age of 42, in 228 B.C. died. Hannibal who was only 18 at that time, and too young to assume his father’s responsibilities including commanding the army and ruling the provinces, gave the leadership to Hamilcar’s brother in law, Hasdrubal. Hasdrubal, the Splendid was married to Hamilcar Barca’s eldest older daughter, Manina.
Hannibal Barca had grown on and married to a beautiful woman by the name of Imilce. She had five children from Hannibal Barca, three sons and two daughters. Man years later, after her marriage to Hannibal Barca, she could not to go with him to Italy. It would be too dangerous for her to ride the well trained elephants. It is safer for her and her children to stay home in Carthage.
Hannibal spoke many languages such as Latin, Greek, Italian, Balkan, Sicilian, and broken Swiss, etc. Hannibal’s sons lived in their city of Piana Dei Greco, Sicily. Their sons’ grand children lived in Piana Dei Greci. Through the 21 st century, some of Hannibal’s great gran children and many more gran children were spread into northern Italy, Switzerland, and Germany. The town of Piana Dei Greci changed its name in 1940 to Piana Dei Albanese, Sicily, Italy due to the war with Greece.
The Barca family of California still has the relics in safeguard from Hannibal Barca. The Carthage nation also changed their name to Tunisia, which is still located at the tip of Africa, and has a lot of artifacts of Hannibal Barca history and relics which remind tourists that the land once was the city and nation of Carthage and birthplace of Hannibal Barca.
There were several books written about Hannibal Barca, and the Punic wars in his city of Carthage as well as books about his father Hamilcar, his brothers and sisters and his trained elephants and dogs and other animals. Most of all he had a love for all animals and people of all kinds and tribes. Like the natives or Indians, he was well educated in the form of army general by his father Hamilcar and his mother. He was tall, white, and handsome. He loved agriculture, planting grapes, making wine, selling wines, and liquors, food, and other agriculture crops. Movies were made of him, starring Victor Mature in 1942.
Hannibal Barca was not only a genius and great leader but also an agriculturist. His main occupation was agriculture as all men were in those days. Fishing was also the big occupation of most men as they devoted their lives to just helping their brothers and friends. They helped each other in various projects during the era before Christ.
Hannibal Barca was a self-made person. He really hated war, but when the Roman Emperor tried to control the Roman Empire after the Greek Emperor, he went into war with them. Hannibal Barca liked the Greek people so much because they were like family to him He learned a lot from them.
Hannibal Barca worked hard to learn from all his great nation neighbors and friends as well as people and nations who had slaves and low class people. Hannibal Barca turned their likes around for all poor people and tribes in Greece, Spain, Sardinia, Corsica, Italy, and all the Albania, and all the surrounding nations also as the Roman Empire.
Hannibal Barca was known to all nations as a very nice person and general warrior until the Roman Empire and the leaders and emperors started wars for more land and more territories and gold. Hannibal Barca developed the city and nation of Carthage and built this nation so big without defense all around the city for people to live within the city. He built a stone fence guard so high that no people or animals could jump it. He also built an animal yard to train his elephants, horses, and dogs how to fight wars and people. Hannibal had foresight and dream to hate Romans. He knew that someday Rome would fall to other leaders and other territories. The nation of Carthage and city was built by Hannibal Barca for every life.
Hannibal Barca first he taught all Carthaginians to plant seedlings of various vegetables, fruits and most of all grapes. He had seen so many grapes grow by the creek beds, more and more each year and whenever he went near the river and creek. He saw more and more when he and his workers started cutting the grape shoots of the more healthy vines which caused him to start raising shoot rows of the grapes. When the winter months ended and spring started, the new leaves start sprouting out in the early spring and during the summer months the small grapes bloomed into large berries on each vine. As the grapes started turning colors to a darker color and Hannibal would let the vines alone until the berries was ready to turn to raisins.
When Hannibal Barca picked the first bunch of grapes which were so sweet and good, he knew if he squeeze the grape berries and get all the juice out, the juice would begin to ferment and become wine. The final procedure would be to blend out a good wine after storage and blending time.
From Hannibal’s first planting and after a few years he started pruning the vines. It was during this three years period, he began to notice a big change in how to start growing grapes with care. After 3-5 years he knew how to plant and prune the grapes as well as knowing how to test them in various periods of time. After many years he also learned to prune and make cuttings to plant other areas and other lands.
Hannibal knew that different regions grew different kinds of varieties of grapes and as he went along. He would get different cuttings of different color of grapes every time during his trips to unknown rivers.
Hannibal would find a lot of grape vineyards and olive trees and would discover his favorite fruits. He would dream of planting in their properties.
Hannibal loved all animals and all of them worked for him in certain ways. In Hannibal Barca you found in him a God sent person, who did not want to hurt any person or governments. Before he died, he taught in Spain, Italy, France and all other countries. In his nation of Carthage he planted all kinds of grapes, fruits, and nuts. He bred cows and bulls that were raised for food for his people. And this made him a great trader for Carthage made him a great trader in Carthage. His great home was built over two miles long and two miles wide and was made of stone all over. All homes were made of stone and high windows. Hannibal had a large family, and as the family grew, they married and had children and more children, mostly all boys. Most of them lived in Sicily around Palermo, Sicily, Italy, several hundred years after Hannibal died. He left an autobiography diary.
Hannibal Barca and his father, brothers, sisters, brother in laws and his sister in laws had twenty future children which eighteen were boys and two girls. There nicknames were called “Masca” from the friends. Everybody had friends and 2 nd and 3 rd cousins and would intermarry. Their numbers multiplied to make the Hannibal Barca family have large numbers. When Carthage the nation was burned down to the ground, all 500,000 or more moved to Sicily-Italy were Hannibal Barca started the Village of Pina Dei Albanese, which later spread to a lot of other governments who controlled Italy and also Sicily. Hannibal’s father and brothers were close as they grew older. The new generation of the Hannibal Barca spread throughout the world and nations. All the people developed the speech the people in those days. They started using the Balkan language which nobody could understand, a language which was hard to understand.
By the 12 th century, this small time took in a lot of renegades from Albania whose people and government treated their people so bad, they did not know where to go.
The little village of Pina Dei Greci was mostly made up of Hannibal Barca relationships – French, Greeks, Albanese, Sicilian, native, Serbs, and other nationalities of different people. They developed a dialect of themselves which sounded like a broken language of which very few could understand. The Italian could not speak nor understand what the people were saying. They could not understand what the people were saying to each other.
The town of Pina Dei Greci was a beautiful little town of themselves. The people worked hard for 2500 years. They married their close friends and never broke away from the family of Hannibal Barca. These people fought hard in different countries. They were very strict with their people and most were orthodox Catholics. They stuck together and farmed together with their main speech and language. This tradition went on to the other parts of the nation as well. People from Italy, Greece, Sicily and Spain could not understand our language. They had a hard time adjusting to this language. These people all knew to work in agriculture while the men work in field and construction.
